Eco-Hotel "Lago del Sol" on the Titicaca Lake, Puno

The Sustainable Development approach demands for our development projects to be financially viable and also attractive for private investors. Currently we are promoting an agrotourism / agricultural reconversion project in Puno on a beautiful place at the Titicaca Lake in Puno (3800 m altitude).

We are following this project since 1996. In coordination with the local base organisation consisting of ca. 400 families, INTERANDES acquired a beach plot of 6 ha for the planning and construction of the future eco-hotel.

In a first phase the agricultural production system is to be restructured to meet the future demand due to the increased tourism. A second phase is the construction and implementation of the hotel itself, together with the promotion and marketing. The whole project is to obtain a positive net profit after the second operation year.

The project budget is estimated in 2 Mio. US dollars, to be covered by means of micro-financing of ca. 2500 US dollars per financing bond. We are also open to other means of financing. A complete study has been already made so to allow a decision for the potential investor.
